What We've Been Up To!

It has been a busy and rewarding start to 2026 for the VSSCo team, with a series of successful events, educational initiatives, and industry collaborations across Northern Ireland and beyond. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to.

May 2026

Irish Veterinary Nursing Association

On May 23rd, we were live at IVNA (Irish Veterinary Nursing Association) Congress 2026!

Thank you to everyone who visited the VSSCo stand at the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise.

Our team enjoyed chatting about all things equipment and consumables, and supporting your practice needs.

If you attended, we loved seeing you there.

Belfast City Marathon

On Sunday 3rd May, colleagues from VSSCo took part in the Belfast City Marathon, entering two relay teams in support of Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke.

Participants included: Colin, David, Emma, Jamie, John, Lee, Noel, Patrick, Rene and Steve.

This charity held particular meaning for our team, as many colleagues had been personally affected by chest, heart, and stroke conditions.

To reinforce our commitment, VSSCo matched all funds raised, doubling the impact of every donation.

CPD Event: mBAS Technology & Farm Profitability

We hosted an informative and practical evening exploring how mBAS technology had been supporting farm performance while increasing practice profitability.

The session featured Rob Drysdale MRCVS & Alfonso Camassa MRCVS
Technical Vets, Fera Animal Health & Diagnostics

Following its launch at the BCVA Congress, Ferappease — a patented analogue of maternal Bovine Appease Substance — had seen significant uptake:

  • Over 200,000 UK applications in the previous year
  • More than 20 million applications worldwide
  • Demonstrated reductions in circulating cortisol
  • Evidence indicating reduced antibiotic use and improved vaccine response

Suitable for cattle of all ages, the product had been delivering strong ROI for both dairy and beef enterprises, while also creating new opportunities for veterinary practices.
